The following images were taken between
January 4 and January 13 in 2023. This phase of
the demolition focused its attention on the extensions
to the original building that were completed in 1958,
1965 and 1971. By January 13th only the original
building, built in two stages in 1919 and 1922, was
left standing.

Apparently the plan is to use it as some sort of memorial once the site is turned into a parking lot and green sopace. Colleen Murphy Colleen's images were taken on January 4 from Park Street Above - the demolition of the 1965 addition with the staircase still intact. The demolition equipment was lurking in the school yard but the destruction hadn't begun. Jennifer's dad captured this rather romantic view of the old school. Jennifer passed it to me on January 6. ***************************** Rick Mitchell Rick sent the following images on January 4th and 5th Above: At this point only the front of the 1958 & 1965 extensions facing Park Street had been demolished. The library and all of the 1971 expansion was still intact. Above & Below - the view from Park Street. As you can see from the date stamp on the image below, this photograph was taken long before the demolition began ************************ Shared by Sara McNichol - Taken By Kim Bressan These images were shared on January 4 and were taken from Park Street. Shared by Sara McNichol - Taken By Joe Kozlowski These images show the devastation on the Centre Street side of the school with the library gone along with much of the 1971 extension. ************************** Shared by Sherry Ram-Roussy - Taken by her Mum Sherry shared this image on January 4. It was taken from Park Street by her mum. *************************** Rock Taylor Ironically, Rock sent
these two images on Friday 13th of
January. Not a lucky day for the school
building. They show that in a week and a
half the building has been reduced back to its
original size with all the newer extensions
demolished.
The
fact is that although the school dates
back to 1919, as the plaque pointed
out, at that time it was a
single storey structure. It
wasn' t until 1921 that a second
storey was added.
