In the late 1960s and early 1970s,
Mrs Mooney, the school's librarian, worked with groups
of children from various grades on the creation of a
number of murals. These murals were entered into
competitions at the Canadian National Exhibition in
Toronto and were awarded trophies.
The trophies and a book that Mrs Mooney wrote about
her work are still in the school.
 The murals can be seen hanging in the stairwell of the 1971 extension.   Mrs Mooney explained the mural projects in her book "Mural Stories".
